We made it in late in the day, but in time for the sunset. I kept having the feeling that Saipan is to Japan what Tijuana and Rosarito Beach are to Southern California. Most of the tourist-related development seemed to have burst with the bubble. The frayed edges were apparent nearly everywhere. I didn't take many pictures of those edges though.....the following pictures are more in the realm of 'our happy weekend in Saipan.' Here's to the homogenizing power of H.I.S. (the cheap-o travel agency where we got the tickets).
